I recently bought some Hornady superformance SST ammo (180gr) for the first time and tried it out in my Remington 700 .30-06. It seemed to group pretty decent for me at 100 yards (~1"). Just wanted to hear some other peoples opinions on this ammo. Any opinions on the SSt vs Fedral Nosler Accubonds? Especially pertaining to moose/elk hunting.
Thanks

I have 150gr sst for my 30-06. They are a really fast expanding bullet and leave a massive wound channel if you hit the boiler room. When I say massive i mean like fist size lol. Accubonds are a sturdier bullet for tougher game.
The sst is pretty good for deer size or smaller game I would say.

I use the Hornady SST Interlocks in 25, 6.5mm, 7mm and 30 cal bullets on everything from coyotes, bears, deer to moose and elk.

They hold together well enough that I've never been able to recover a bullet because of full through penetration. The wound channel is around 2 inches in diameter.

So far I haven't been unlucky enough to have to take out a shoulder. Had the opportunity once last year but let the animal go instead. I hate ruining a quarter on any animal.

Those SSTs will perform exactly as they were designed to if you perform on your end.

Any bullet made, will cause meat to be bloodshot if you hit bone.

Some of the larger calibres, like the 338 and larger, with relatively heavy bullets won't damage as much meat but even then, a well placed shot to the boiler room is by far the best placement for any bullet. Mind you, there are always exceptions.
