Hornady V-Max .22 CAL 55GR SPSX BULLETS

I just loaded some Hornady V-Max .22 CAL 55GR SPSX BULLETS for my .223. i haven't had time to try them out yet. i was wanting to know if anyone has tried them out before? How do they work? I will be shooting them in my Tikka T3 Lite. Let me know your thoughts,
 
you're talking about 2 different bullets. either way they will both shoot great and be pretty misty on gophers. they're both designed to expand rapidly.
 
hornady bullets

Well i got that all of one box of hornady bullets that what i thought i thought they were two different bullets to. will they work for coyotes.
 
The SPSX are lead tipped, the V-MAX are plastic tipped.

I use the SPSX all the time on gophers, one of my favorite bullets for the 223. I just recently bought 10 boxes from one of the board dealers, just to keep up my stock.

I've never tried them on coyotes.

I have used 55 gr V-MAX on quit a few coyotes they worked great. Now I am using 75 gr A-MAX. I just shot two coyotes this evening with the 75 gr A-MAX one at 100 and the second at 320, worked great.

I kn you see to think im talking about two different bullets. Maybe they packaged them wrong. but they have the lead tip and the box says v-max, and when you read the fine print it says polymer tip now wouldn't you think polymer means plastic and the once that i have are lead. they com in kind of a hologram box.

Seems you have the SPSX. They're very frangible, perhaps even more so than the Vmax, so they'll come apart pretty quick on impact. Keep that in mind if you intend to use them for anything except paper (not that it is necessarily a bad thing).
 
I just recently bought a box as well and yes, the label lists them as V-Max but they are actually lead points and do not have the plastic tips. I suspect that it's just a saving money during packaging thing, although it is a little bit misleading as nowhere on the box does it say that you aren't getting the v-max tip except for the SPSX in place of V-MAX.

I haven't had the chance to load them up yet but I hope they shoot as well as the 50grn v-max do.
