Hey Guys;

I just purchased a NEW Hornady vibratory case tumbler today. I arrived home, unpacked it and yes, read the instructions... I then tried turning on the tumbler... No go, so I tried a different wall socket, no go... I held the button down on the power cord, released it, no go... I pressed and released the button several dozen times, no go...

I think I got a bum tumbler. Any idea's what the heck might be wrong? I don't see another "on/off" button or switch, just what's on the power cord and nothing else is mentioned in the manual, in fact it just says "turn on/off"... No discussion as to the type of switch or trouble shooting...

Frustrated!!!:bangHead:It's BRAND NEW!!! And doesn't work! I should have checked the damn thing before leaving the store!

Cheers
Jay

A brand new tumbler that doesn't even turn on is probably a simple wiring issue somewhere. Pretty rare occurence, so you shouldn't kick yourself for not trying it in the store. Can you imagine the line-up if everyone at Walmart insisted on seeing their toaster plugged in and working at the checkout counter before paying?

If you are handy with such things and want it to work now, you might try opening any easy access covers and looking for an unhooked wire. If not, you certainly are entitled to warrantee service.

I hear ya BattleRife, I would swap it at the store, it's just the inconvienance... Dang store has limited hours and is about 1.5 hours away from me (Higgenson Powders in Hawkesbury)

My guess is your correct, but I won't mess with the wiring myself because IF I can't solve it and "they" found out I was messing with it, the warranty is void...

Ya thats pretty rare, hopefully you kept the reciept, I would just take it back to the store, they should replace it no problem, but if you're mechanically inclined, it is likely either a short, or a loose negative or positive wire.

Or you could call Hornady and ask if they've come across anything like that before, just make sure though, you don't want to void your warranty by trying to fix it and then taking it back.
