I am new to reloading and haven't exposed myself to a great variety of bullets. I've used nothing but Hornady 32gr. Vmax bullets in my .204 that have the red *polymer* tip.
I just bought a box of 40gr. moly coated Vmaxs for my .223 and they have a metal tip. After I opened the box and saw the tips, I re-read the label thinking the guy gave me the wrong box but no, it says "Hornady 40gr. Vmax moly-coated".
Obviously there is different kinds of Vmax bullet heads. I just hope these give me the same explosive results on gophers as the red polymer tipped bullets and not act like FMJ.
