So I stopped in to see Striker, and talk about guns and such, and notice immediately that there is a remintion 742 action spring within sight. So I ask whats up with it, turns out its a refinishing project he is doing for someone of course, and then I see it close up
Back when I did gunsmithing I saw some awful autoloaders, but have to admit, this may have been the worst I ever saw. The rust was almost as bad inside the reciver, the bolt head was covered in what can only be called rust-mud, and the chamber wasn't much better. The action bars looked good, as did the spring, but the gas nozzle looks like swiss cheese almost, and the innerds are just plain awful.
Previously the worst I ever worked on was a bear guides BAR, which was about 75% as bad as this, but this just made me wonder why anyone would let it happen.
