Well the gunsmith that always did my hotbluing recently quit bluing, which left me wondering who to approach for future jobs. Luckily I stumbled across a post by "ssapach" where he had recently started bluing and the pictures looked very nice. So I messaged him, and he agreed to blue a small batch of parts I had.

Fast turn around, beautifully packed and most importantly a beautiful bluing job.

Just wanted to give him a shout out for a job well done. Thanks again

Here are the parts - a mix of matte and gloss parts:

No real project here, just some recontouring and truing that needed bluing.

I do have a couple small but neat projects on the go which I will post if I ever finish....

If you run out of ideas, I have a Savage 24 that is quite envious of the fixed sights you added to yours. ;)

Nice bluing - I have been thinking of getting my rifle re-blued when I get it back from the smith; it's getting bedded and the crown cleaned up.

Thanks for the shout out! And thanks everyone else for the comments!

It's funny that it's a bit of a dirty job to do hot bluing, but the more I do it, the more I seem to enjoy seeing the results of the dirty work. I do get the odd screw up though, luckily they were only a couple small pieces of my own this time. Had some heavy, waxy buildup on them and it didn't get completely removed before bluing, so they were left with spots.

Where are you located?
