You can stay right on the base in the barracks. I think they charge $8-$10 for a night. There is also a Comfort Inn or a Days Inn, I can't remember but one of the two is about 5-10mins away from the range. I think the hotel is in Bells Corners. I also plan on attending these events as well.
Thanks I have stayed in the barracks a few times but this year it is not in the cards while i like to camaraderie of being with the guys I am going to have to find facilities off base this year....
looking a the Days inn i think they are already full up for May long weekend.
There is a Days Inn on Moodie Drive. $113 a night, find a buddy. It also has an adjoining restaurant. 5 minutes from the range. Comfortable and quiet. Across the road is grocery store, so ask for a refrigerator.
There's a Holiday Inn in Kanata which isn't too far out, and is right next to the biggest restaurant/shopping hub in the west end of Ottawa (http://www.hisottawa.ca/ottawa-kanata-hotels/) - I have family working at that one.
There's a Holiday Inn Express, a Bel-Air Motel, and a Best Western in Bells Corners near the Days Inn already mentioned. Have never stayed at any of these, but I'd avoid the Best Western. A friend of mine used to work there and her stories were not encouraging.
And of course the Brookstreet off march road, but that's going to be pricey.

Another popular place is the Comfort Inn in Kanata. Hearst Way is the road its on. They have DCRA rates but the room still comes out to a bit over $100 with tax. Make sure to ask for a ground floor room if you want to drag some gear in.
