Would anybody have any information on breeders of "the american leopard or blackmouth cur", in Canada. Have heard some good things abut them and would be interested in maybe getting one. Also would enjoy hearing from anyone who has used them.

as far as I know there may not be any breeders in Canada of Lep Curs.

I hunted a male who we lost this winter primarily on Mnt Lion....he was natural.
Tend to be more sensitive and easyer to put some handle on then a hound.

Very sorry to hear you lost him. Was he lost lost, or meet his end. Nice you have a pup off him. Beautiful looking dog. Yes lion and bear dogs mostly I think but will run most anything if started on them. We hunt mostly deer in this area, but bear is getting plentiful. We run mostly Walker and Beagle. Would love to get some cur blood. Perhaps some other people will post. Thanks for the pictures.

There's a couple who breeds blackmouths up here in sudbury. As far as I know they've only had 1 litter, I believe 2 years ago, but were planning to have another in the future. If I was better set up at the time I would have picked up a pup myself, they sound like an awesome breed.

Edit: They regularly posted on the old ontario hunt forum, its changed to a new forum, but I expect they'd still be around. He was often found in the upland section. I believe he used his dogs for grouse, but never big game. From what i've heard though a blackmouth can be trained on just about anything.
