I can't wait to take mine out. Way too cold for me to try shooting for groups out doors.

Looks great and shoots beautiful. Is that the Lilja Barrel?
Are you looking to do anything with the nasty magazine sticking way down, or do you like it as is.

It's OK for a 10 round mag. I'm sure someone will make a flush fit 5 round mag some day.

No it is not the Lilja yet. Waiting on the reamer. I did headspace the barrel though. I hate the magazine. It is a terrible design.

Good stuff. Do you find the OEM barrel shoots better after being headspaced? Any idea what the headspace was measuring before you adjusted it?

Have not shot it that much at 50 to determine if it is better. Spent what time I had today trying to get it to feed with less force and determined that I either need to reduce the spring pressure of the extractor or file a bit off the tip. Then I shot my 300 yard gong for a bit.

Headspace was .048 and is now .043. There was .020 space between my barrel shoulder and action face. I still think I might try taking .015 off the face of the chamber, filing the feed lip back into chamber and seeing if it is better. I like the idea of the shoulder and action face touching and also the fact that I would get better bullet engagement.

There are some other things when you look close at these rifles that make you wonder what Tikka was thinking.

Did a few more mods to it today and shot a few groups. D9068FFF-FA49-496F-87CC-D854BACEB8A8.jpg9650686B-B706-4643-87D4-6B36D06D00B4.jpgB53FEBD5-4E91-493E-8D4C-DD0B3F8EF9FE.jpg45F764D4-F8D3-4199-B9E0-6FE6CCFE235F.jpg

I have some stronger magazine springs on order from a distributor here in my province. rather than clip the extractor spring which may cause extraction/ejection issues, I am going to put a stronger spring in the magazine first, without having the next bullet in the magazine getting deformed by the bottom of the bolt. hopefully this will solve the feed issue without causing ejection issues. the factory spring wire is .027 and I had to settle for .041, the closest which is available.
