Ya I know but they never made them in the PRE 81 BLRs.......I dont really like the model 81's

Congrats on a fine set of Browning BLR's. My very first rifle and kill was with a 1977 BLR chambered in the 308 Winchester. The kill was also in 1977. I was a Elmer Fudd back then and still an Elmer Fudd today.

I believe that I removed the hood because it was interfering with my sight-picture. I did re-installed it and mounted a scope shortly after. The rifle had been sold many decades ago.

Would like to hear more about your 338 Federal...what barrel did you use? Performance? Any magazine issues?

Have thought a steel receiver BLR T/D switch barrel set up would be cool...only I've been told the T/D mechanisms cannot be purchased separately

There's a rumor out there that the Pre 81 BLR in 308 can handle 7.62x51 and commercial 308 Winchester without a hickup?
And this Belgian built rifle, was the only variant that could do this variance in ammunition, and maintain reliability of repeat fire from the magazine.

Wonder if this is true or baloney??
