How accurate is your sks?

Would the trigger work be the same for the SKS-D.

I don't know the answer to that and I am not skilled in any way that I could do the trigger job myself. But I have an SKS-D and I sent my trigger group down to Tom Prince (aka kivaari) and he did an AMAZING job on it. It is 500% improved! Here is his webpage for the SKS trigger job.

I had no problem with customs in either direction (just shipped trigger group) but mind you this was 2 years ago but he would know if the rules have changed since then. So for anyone (like me) who can't do the job themselves here is the webpage for the SKS match/target trigger work for any kind of SKS:

im going to delete the site bcos you cant rely on a person who is working on your trigger to know internation/trading gun laws .

i would ask those who are interested to read the legalese first and comply with all the neccesary paper work before sending a trigger housing to the US. i believe its against their law to send internal parts like hammer and trigger , not to mention there is a ban on norinco and russian SKS (and parts) in effect.

im no expert in importing/exporting but i did a quick check in the legalese section and found this so be careful:

It seems when it comes to older Soviet era guns, accuracy of each gun is different from the next one. It is probably because in 40's and 50's a lot of work was done by hand and results depended on Whose shift it was that day (..or how much Vodka he had that morning!).

Yesterday I bought a Tokarev tt33 and my research says same thing about Toks. Some of them won't hit the paper at 25 and some group very nicely constantly right out of the storage crate!

Would be great to hear curttons opinion on that.

My Yugo shoots a lot better than I do (and probably better than I ever will). Would have to secure use of a "lead sled" or other mechanical rig to figure out how well she REALLY shoots however.

Do you know if they changed that within the last two years? Because we both wrote exactly what it was on the customs declaration and it flew right through no problem both ways. I think they have been adding new restrictions on a lot of things though. It sucks!

But check it out if you want it done, because it WAS legal according to customs 2 years ago and maybe (hopefully!) still is and it's worth it! I am definitely not suggesting anyone break any laws though if they have changed! I STRONGLY and ONLY agree with being honest and law-abiding!

Well lots of info on accuracy/improving accuracy can also be found at sksboards. com. especially in troubleshooting and accesories sections.

When I get my health and my sks both put back together, I will test out accuracy and report back on it! :D Should be sooooooon.
