How am I so fast?

So I have some 175 grain nosler custom competitions loaded over 39 grains of imr4895(nosler data) in Hornaday brass and a federal large rifle primer.

Rifle is a savage model 10 fcp-sr(digital camo version) with a 1:10 twist barrel.

I fired 10 rounds today to confirm zero at 100 yards and I used my Magneto speed Chrono.

10 rounds averaged 2827 fps. This is far and above projected book velocity. No pressure signs. What's the deal, why are they so fast?

Check your scale, are you sure you used the right powder, and try another chrony. Probably not the MS but doesn't hurt to be sure.

Yes I'm sure on components and charge weight. I will see about shooting across another Chrono. I will pull a round a doubly check my charge weight. It's agreeable that these are traveling much faster than they should?

Or drop a few rounds at 500yds and see if the trajectory matches said MS velocity - then you'll now if its a bad MS reading or whether you are going that speed.

308. 24” barrel

I also have a 308 Win with a 24" barrel and if I shoot Hornady Superformance ammo with 150 grain SST bullets on a hot July summer's day ... it will clock on the chronograph 3050 fps.

The gun barrel is very warm and so is the ammo at 34 Celsius on a summer's day in the sun.

What scale? Digital?
My old scale (MTM brand) would give me bad readings if battery was a bit weak. Had to constantly change the battery to get it accurate and reliable.
I noticed because I was getting pressure signs. For a load of 29gr of H110 and I was actually getting about 31.6gr.
