How best to HOLD original SKS stock with trigger hand?

This thread is a spin-off of the threads about the C-clamp grip of the forestock and the LOP of the SKS stock.
Many switch to a tactic-cool plastic stock in order to get a pistol grip on their SKS, saying how uncomfortable
the original stock is and some of us have been bumping ourselves in the nose while shooting with our original stock.

I have been trying to grip the stock wrist as if it was a pistol grip, thinking that I want a strong hold to keep it steady
while I press the trigger. On Sunday, I tried a few things I learned from the above two threads and used the forestock
for the strong grip and pointed my thumb of my trigger hand, towards the barrel, and just rested it there - No gripping.

The result was: 1. no nose bumping 2. no hand fatigue 3. smaller group. Opinions?

As someone who doesn't own any firearms with pistol grips (other than pistols!) I don't have a good perspective on the difference in grip.

However, with an SKS or any standard stock design, I bear the majority of the weight with my left hand on the forestock, tuck the buttstock into my shoulder and wrap my thumb around the top of the wrist and my fingers around the bottom with a somewhat loose grip. I use the tip of my index finger (pad) to pull the trigger and keep it depressed until my follow up shot. I let the trigger forward slowly until I can feel / hear the mechanical reset, like a pistol. This reduces trigger travel distance and pull weight.

Thanks for this! Trigger control follow thru is something I need to work on.
