How big should my balls be?

Hey Guys, I just picked-up a Lee Enfield smooth bore in 410 calibre. They were made to shoot a straight sided Brit 303 casing with a round ball. I mic'd the bore at .410, so would I use a paper patched .400 ball stuck into a casing? How many grs of powder?

I will try using black powder! Here is what it looks like, top.

I would be inclined to use a .410 ball unpatched , if you can find one and a short fiber or cork wad between powder and ball. As to powder charge use a drop tube and enough 3F powder so that the ball sits in the neck of the case.

That's a good question, I suppose it depends on if you intend to use them and what you use em for!
