Maybe a stupid question... what's the going price on a MAS 49 ? How collectable are those things

I'm asking as I currently got one in ok shape but the stock is seriously beat-up... I've got no use for the rifle in its current state, had it for a few years, never fired it once (I do reload, I can't even use that excuse). I'd probably be looking at getting some kind of custom stock and plan on keeping everything non-permanent.

Is it even worth it ? or am I better off selling it and getting something in the lines of a M14 ? Am I a gun redneck if I have more parts then guns and have parts for guns I don't even own :p

If the rifle is still in its original caliber (7,62x54 French), I don't see why it cannot be sold as is to a military surplus collector...
A Mas 49 in very good shape can be sold at a very good price, about the price or a tad higher than a comparable Longbranch No.4.
Now, as any other milsurp, condition is everything. How's the bore and chamber?
Any pics of the stock and metal finish?
Any signs of arsenal refurb?

PP.
