Not very common.
Marlin only made 5000 rifles in 2 versions; the first the MXLR in stainless/laminate w/ 24" barrel, and the second a wood/blued MX w/ 22" barrel. (I have the latter - took about 12 years to find one!) Prices for these rifles when found has climbed; expect to see asking prices north of $2000.
It got good reviews when first introduced in the US.
Ammo did make to to Canada about 3 years ahead of the rifles due to importing issues.
Ammo choices are the Remington loaded w/ 250 gr Corelokts and Hornady loaded w/ 200 gr FTXs.
Performance is very similar to the 338 Federal.
