So I am just getting into AR15's, I used to be a big M1A guy but I spent about 2 years on an M1A Socom II build and had it all guccied out with a VLTOR modstock with a tangodown pistol grip and emod buttstock with the quadrail with an 512 eotech and an magpul AFG with a Surefire in a vickings tactical flashlight mount and a two point adjustable sling Magpul fufd Buis, my tacvest was set up to hold 8 20 rnd m14 mags i had 20 5/20 rnd mags everything was set, everything was ready for the zombies. I built the gun In BC but I moved to NB and shipped it out canada post along with my PARA 1911 Gi expert and it got jacked in transit. gone.... along with my motivation to attempt to rebuild it. so because of the popularity and availability of AR15's ive decided to switch sides, join the AR crowd. so ive got some questions

1: where do you guys get your stuff? (i mean it has to come in the country somehow) things dont just magically grow in some hidden part of the EE)

2: Can you order upper and lower receivers seperately (back to question 1 where?)

Plenty of dealers up top who bring in a multitude of stuff, I got my stuff mostly from Questar... I guess it really depends on what you're looking for... ATRS has a really nice Upper/Lower receiver set that looks just amazing, especially with their new gen4, the Cadex lower (OST) looks really good too

Have fun! Oh and welcome to the addiction....

More and more Canadian companies are carrying ARs and AR parts. Yes you can order uppers and lowers separately. You can order complete uppers/lowers or stripped basic uppers/lowers and all of the smaller parts and build them yourself. I ordered an NEA complete lower from SFRC. I figure if i get a quality lower this allows me to get any upper and just swap them out depending on what i want to shoot.

I believe i saw some AR stuff on Wanstalls. They have some Daniel Defense and new Core 15 rifles coming in for not a bad price.

Just look through all the websites on the top of the forums, there's a pretty wide variety of different AR parts and accessories. Also i have ordered from Brownells before and they have a tonn of AR parts.

We have a few Daniel Defense rails in stock ;)

We have Knights Armament and Daniel Defense parts in stock.

Magpul shipment is clearing customs right now.

Lots of Cadex in stock as well.

:D

Here's a custom one (mine) built on a Cadex lower with Knights rail and S&J Hardware barrel.

We can build you a custom one, or help you build it.

Sorry for your loss, that just sucks.

Welcome to NB where you need a transport permit for NR out of hunting season or without a license.

I have been to all the local retailers (NB/NS) and yet to find any real black dealers, your going to be ordering a lot online and shipping. The Fredericton gun store is just starting to carry some black stuff (just got my RFB there), and the local market just is not into black guns yet.

Also welcome to Gagetown, the range on base is open every Sunday with a membership ($48 year).

I started out with a Core15 from OneShotTactical:
C15-1.jpg

Got a BAD lever from tacticalcowboy (CGN dealer)
Core15-3.jpg

A red dot Sparc from yet another CGN dealer...
Core15-2.jpg

Bought another upper (NEA) off the EE here:
NEA1.jpg

Didn't like the rattly basic stock, so bought a FAB Def that fits better and has a much better, grippy buttpad...from a non CGN dealer
FAB5.jpg

And a scope and mount from P&D, will be mounting my red dot up top until I get an angled mount for further forward.

So for now, here's how she sits:

And by no means am I done, I'll probably change the pistol grip and maybe some other things.

The point being, parts are so interchangeable, you can basically build from a stripped upper and lower and make it into anything, as long or as short, as vintage or as modern, as you want.

I like the scope but is it possible for me to get one without all the zombie propaganda on it?

Yes, it's essentially the VX-R Patrol. Also, the Zombie comes with a warning, so I would assume it's easy enough to eradicate it all if you wanted the green lit dot instead of the red of the Patrol...
