Can someone post some pics as to how far the case length gauge goes into the cutter? I have the LEE set up and an wondering if it goes in beyond finger tight. I haven't actually used it to set the length of any cases yet, but will probably have to do some in the next hundred rounds or two and want to be prepared. As usual...thanks in advance. I've really learned a lot here.

Sorry, here's a pic.

This is just finger tight into the cutter. It's a gauge for .223 cal. I assume it is not tight enough.

You assume correctly. The bit that's threaded is cut in half, so sometimes the threads are a bit hard to get all the way in there. Base of the gauge should go to the start of the cutter.

funny I just finished trimming brass on my bed while watching tv... yeah, the guage goes in tight and right up to the teeth. My particular setup was still a tad too long (I measured the brass on one after cutting) and it was a hair too long, so I ran the pivot on some fine sand paper a few times and that makes the brass now spot on (when there is brass to remove).

:)

As mentioned, the picture shows that it need to be tightened further.

Finger tight is sufficient. Don't forget to chamfer the inside of the trimmed cases and deburr the outsides when you get it sorted out.
