It all started with the sks.

I went to LeBaron in Mississauga to buy 1 sks. When I asked to look at one from behind the counter I was handed an absolutely prestine 54' with an odd triangle and arrow on top (didn't know it was an izzy at the time). I thought hmm this one is too nice to shoot or %&£¥ with. Maybe I should look for another equally as nice one. Then I asked to see another. I was handed a prestine 54' with a star and arrow it. I recognized that as a Tula and thought okay maybe ... just maybe I'll shoot this one. I then bought them, and went back a few days later for the registration to clear (remember that registry thing? Lol).

I got home and looked all over this forum and even posted photos of my newly acquired ruskie's and discovered they were unissued unrefurbed and man o man were they minty. So then I had to go buy a 3rd to shoot and put the Choate scope mount on. That was another tula. Shortly after I was on the marstar website and saw the Chinese ones for 75 with a case of ammo... so I private messaged Johnone and asked him 'I've got enough ammo as it is, can I buy a norinco 1911a1 two tone and throw in an sks for 75 bux?' To which he replied 'sure, just get your order in quickly'

So I got a 4th sks. I've been buying and selling and modding different firearms ever since.

Was forced to get my PAL during the LGR so the cops wouldn't take gramps 2 hunting shotguns (Breda 20g semi and savage 12g SxS)after he passed away. Well while in the course I decide to get my RPAL and that just opened the gates lol

Breda 20g semi
Savage 12g SxS
Remington 870 (sold)
Taurus 991 .22
SASS pair of Ruger Vaqueros
Marlin 1894 SS
CZ75B
S&W 686
Mossberg 715T (sold)
Henry 001
Remington 1911
Marlin 60
Ruger 10/22
Warrior 12g semi

I laugh when I think that if it wasn't for the LGR I would have never gotten into this sport and gramps 2 shottys would still be in the cottage attic collecting dust.

Cant remember if I received an SKS on a $130 debt, or if I had originally bought two off my friend. An old 28" pump action 12g with a .308 BSA Majestic for $400.

There's been a few purchases since then ranging from .177 to .50cal, and .410 to 12g. Wood, laminate, black - lever, bolt, semi, pump.. my safe is not disciminant.

Just to list a few favourites:
Marlin 45-70 in stainless
Warrior Semi 12g in chromium
NS522 .22cal
VZ58 7.62x39 in wood

Mosin 91/30
sks
my dad gave me his old .22 semi
then three svt-40's and an m44 mosin.
AR MAG sks.
DA grizzly magfed and somewhere in there a marlin 795.

sold an svt and parted out another. sold the 91/30. When funds permit gonna get an M38 and a finn mosin to round out the collection.

plan on getting a k98 and lee enfield in there too.

Edit: Opps, sorry, two of those are not rifles.

I started when I got all gin'd up on Wiskey at a wildlife dinner and bought a muzzle loader. Realizing I better buy something to get some trigger time I bought an SKS to shoot and get used to shooting again after being out of the game for 20+ years. Then bought a 1949 SKS as a safe queen. Then another 1954 Izzy SKS, and a LE no 4, then a 1955 Tula SKS and a Polish M44. Then I figured I needed an m14 so I picked up one of those and traded the LE no4 as I had one in the safe already from my father. Then an SVT40. Then I ordered a 22" M14 and it came with a chi com SKS. Then, since I needed a hunting rifle I picked up an Old Parker Hale 270 that was just like my fathers 308. Then I decided I needed a heavy barrel LR rifle and picked up a Savage 10TR and sold the shorty m14 to raise funds for glass for the 10TR. I also liquidated the SKS's and only kept the all original 49 with the spike bayo and my 53 Tula shooter. Sold off the M44, Chi com SKS, and the 55 Tula and 54 Izzy SKS. Somewhere along the line I also traded for or purchased a Vz58 in 223, and Zastava M85 in 7.62x39, Rem 597, Springfield National Match M1a, and a Weatherby 22-250. Once you start its hard to stop. But it is a lot of fun and a great way to blow off some steam. Shooting them that is :)

Nope, other than being in the RED RIFLE forum its not red rifle specific. Considering the OP's first rifle was a 12 Gauge....

Ok, so this belongs in the General Firearms Discussion then because this forum is reserved for RR discussions only.
