Hi I want to sell a couple guns to a few fully licensed PAL holders. But I am not sure how to transfer the registration. How do I do this what is the easiest way. Is there a website where I can just pump in the numbers/info or is there a number I have to call?

Call the CFC, 1 800 731 4000, wade through the automatic switchboard. Have the firearm information, your information, and the buyer's information at hand. Be ready to write down the transfer reference number. The buyer will use it to speak to the CFC in order to complete his end of the deal. If the buyer is local, make the call together; the transfer will likely go through right on the spot.
It's really simple but one additional thing is make sure you have the gun at hand when you phone as it may need to be verified before the transfer. They may ask you some specific questions about the gun and ask you to measure the barrel. Have your PAL, and registration cert for the firearm and the buyer's name, addy and PAL # and away you go.

There is someone local who's PAL expired and wants to sell his guns (doesn't want to deal with firearms anymore). Would this cause a problem for someone like me with a valid PAL to purchase them? The firearms were registered....
