How do I get this sight picture for my Marlin 1894C?

I used a nice 1892 (Browning, I think) once where the sight pictures looked like #1. I thought that was awesome as it allowed me to hit phone books at 40 yards easily. However, when people discuss what sights they are getting for the Marlin, it is usually Williams Firesights which I think looks like #2. Some people have peep or ghost-ring sights like #3 and diopters like #4.

I've heard talk of Williams and Lyman sights and diopters and reflex sights and so on and it all gets confusing without the opportunity to see what people are talking about.

What do you think would be the fastest sight picture for quick target acquisition at close range? I found #1 to be really good and I am used to those kinds of sights but most people would probably prefer the ghost ring. How does that compare to #1 in terms of speed and accuracy?

I've seen the #4 in use, looks like that's what those rear-stock mounted flexible sights are, but I don't know how fast they are. They look more like target sights than fast hunting sights. Which would you reccommend for close range? Right now, I only have the buckhorn/bead combination, over which anything would be an improvement, I think. Which can I do without mounting anything on the scope mounts?

Ghost ring is really fast, aperature/peep sights not quite as much; but both have a similar sight picture. I think #1 would probably be the fastest overall, but also the least accurate.

You could also go for an eotech-style holosite for the ultimate in fast, but would look a little silly on most open-sighted hunting style guns

Oh, also I am avoiding EOtech because I want to keep it simple. I am operating on the KISS principle, plus I want to keep a slim profile. A Holosight is just something to run out of batteries or break. We're talking about a lever gun here :)
