So I finally took my first step into a larger world, and bought an RCBS Rock Chucker Sooopreme. It replaces the Lee hand press I've been using for the last year--I wanted to try reloading without investing big $$.

And yes it's beautiful and I can't believe I've loaded thousands of rounds without it, but the damned thing is HEAVY and puts some serious strain on my puny reloading desk. Do you guys who use one mount them on workbenches, or bolt them directly into your foundation, or....?

.... A dedicated bench is really the best way to go. If space/size is a limiting factor, a bench with an attached piece of plywood that you can stand on works well. The other option, use one of the cheap folding work benches, with that you can either drill mounting holes directly, or use a heavy piece of plywood and "C" Clamp it into place(Maybe the same system would work for you using the kitchen table? ) .... As you've found out, there's a fair amount of strength required of the mounting system/bench ! .... David K.

My Rockchucker's mounted on a wooden bench in the garage with some major support attached vertically between the bench and floor. Can resize/destroy anything the these.

reloading bench

I have a rockchucker press and found that a heavy duty bench is needed for any kind of reloading other wise you have alot of flex. I spent $100.00 and had a 1.5'' square metal bench welded up by a friend, 36''x30'' with wood exstentions for a total of 6'x30'' it works awsome.

Those folding workmates are good for a limited-space setup. They are on sale this week at CT. I picked up one of those old metal office desks with a super heavy composite top free at a sale once. They are great for mounting to and are cheap and readily available.

I just finished mounting mine on home made bench. Built the frame out of 2x4's and topped it with two sheets of 3/4" plywood screwed and glued together. It's about 25"x50".
