How do I remove Topper shotgun stock?

Hey guys,

I have a couple H&R shotguns to repair, one a model 1900 and the other an M48 Topper. How do I get the stocks off the receiver? Do I punch the pins that are situated below the hammer out, or is there some other more arcane method?

Just remove the buttplate and use a long screwdriver or ratchet with extension to remove the stockbolt which is threaded into the rear of the action. Be careful wiggling the butt of the action, some of them fit pretty tight and you can crack the sides of the stock.

Take the butt plate off. There is a long screw that holds it in place. Remove the screw....et voila.....
