How do I tell if my KSG is a "Gen 1 or Gen 2"

Looking for input from those that have owned both or know the differences between them. Wondering what is changed. Thanks, Phil

The newest production ones have letters in the serial numbers, the tube selector is a bit different on the part that covers each tube. The DFE link is TOTALLY different and doesn't fall out and look like a 2 year old made it, here is a pic of what the new one looks like and if that's what yours looks like its the newest one

Thanks! Mine has a letter in the ser# (X16**) but the DFE link must be the old style, as it looks different than yours (flat). Must be an older unit. It works fine, I was just wanting to know what I had.

Well the first ones didnt have one at all lol it's only there to stop from double feeding if you short stroke it.

The pump release/ trigger mech will let you hold the trigger down, then when fired and put back into battery(GEN 2's), the trigger will reset and ready to fire again. I think the GEN 1's don't have the slits in the mag tubes so you know how many rounds are in them., also I think the Gen 2's have 2 hole side by side in the verticle grip handle. Dale Z!
