How do I

Well how do I fix my screw up.
Yesterday I picke up a Ross rifle and 2 enfields. Well i deside to start cleaning them up.
I took the ejector and spring out off the bolt as it was gummed up pretty bad. Get it all nice and clean now i can get the spring and the ejector claw to go back in. Spring tension is to much to sqeeze and push back in.

Any one give me a hint as to remedy this

It is from a 1899 enfield if it help

use leverage of some kind..

Well, if you're going to be doing this exercise a lot, or really getting into deep doo doo frequently with it, then here's how the Armourer's did it.

Yes I know how to use tools thanks I just didnt want to destroy it, thought that there was some easy trick without resultiing to brute force. My therapist said that I have come along way.
