How do tikka's handle heavier bullets?

I wanted a 260 but can't seem to find one, so I my buy a 243. I am wondering how they handle the heavier bullets with the 10" twist that the spec sheet says they have?

Please let me know your thoughts and bullet weights you use.

107 gr matchkings ended up sideways in my 243 but 100 gr partitions group under 1 moa at 100yd for mine

You could always try a 25-06..... mine shot well with 120gr partitions.

Well, I would load the 120grs in your 270 and reduce the load and you pretty much can duplicate the 260....

Might as well go with a Model Seven CDL in 260.

Don't matter if it's .270 or .243 the tikka action size is the same

I hear ya on the action length. Not gonna buy a Remington as they are all non-detachable mags in 260 and generally just not my fav. My 270 has a hinged floor plate and that is why I want a new rifle, of course any reason for a new gun is a good reason!

makes sense same speeds as a .260 some run the 6.5 faster. Lapua brass availiable.

Okay, I'll consider that, but I'll still have to find one, for a reasonable price! The callibers I was considering were 260, 6.5x55, 6.5x47, 6.5 creedmoor, and then (243, 7-08)non 6.5's. It doesn't need to be Tikka but it's gotta have a detachable mag.

Epps has a few of the Tikka Super Varmint rifles in 6.5x55 - not the cheapest version but they are sweet! They also have a Lite in 7-08 if you want to go that way.
