How do tranfers work? HELP

Call the CFO with all yours and the buyers info, including Pal #'s etc and all the gun info including serial number and the registration number you were issued for it. If you still have your book from the pal course, it lists it all near the back in appendix K.
Their number is 1-800-731-4000

The best way to ship would be in the original box and Canada Post has the best rates, make sure its signature required & insured. When canada post was on strike i checked the other outfits, and they were all substantially more expensive and most have additional fees for firearms if they ship them at all.

If selling an non-restricted (30-30 Marlin) privatley, do both parties need to be present at the time of transfer (while on phone with CFO)?

Or, can the seller get everything done with just the buyers info?

Seller calls and initiates transfer (giving CFO buyers info, and all firearm info). Then seller notifies buyer it has been initaited and buyer calls into CFO to confirm info and complete transfer. Buyer notifies seller it is complete. Now seller calls in one last time to make sure it is complete before shipping firearm.

Buyers can initiate a transfer as well...

Once a referance number is obtained from the CFC the person who initiated the transfer shares that number with the buyer/seller to complete the transfer process.
