How do we get this guy?

I'd really like to see it in 7.62x25

I was talking to a CGNer about this. He said it would be extremely difficult to do because the surplus 7.62x25 is really hot and the gas system wouldn't be able to hold it. If we could figure out a way to do a blow-back action it might be fine. Wouldn't have to change the barrel just get a chamber insert to chamber it down to the cartridge dimensions and switch from a 7.62x39 bolt to a .223 bolt... oh and obviously figure out the mag situation...

Change the bolt and springs get ride of the gas system by just not putting a hole in the barrel done. Or make the hole smaller ie less gas.

+1, that would be fantastic.

Blowback is inherently limited to lower pressures than a gas operated action, so this would be doing it backwards. Looking at chamber pressures for both x25 and x39 shows they are almost identical around 45,000psi, certainly no more than 5% different at most. That would be easily handled with slight tweaking of the gas port sizes and/or different spring rates on the recoil spring. Using a chamber insert to get down to x25 wouldn't work that well, the x39 barrel will have a groove diameter of 0.310" and x25 wants 0.308".

Well that's what I was thinking. Adjusting port size or recoil spring for the gas system. But I'm no expert or even close. :)
It would be nice though in 7.62x25. I already have more of that than I'll ever run through my tt33. :)

For the mag challenged, not all 9mm.
