Good morning to all precision shooters.
I am a newbie on CGN and quite a Newbie in Canada and I wonder how do you organise your long range shooting session (up to 1000 yards) because there is no long range shooting club at least in Quebec.
I can imagine you all have your own spot in the nature but what kind of precaution do you take to be safe regarding the other people and what says the law about that ?
Can we shoot during all the year or do we have to respect some slots like hunting season or whatever ?
I am the pride owner of some beautifull piece of steel perfectly designed for long range and start to be fed up with shooting to 200 meters.
Thank you very much for sharing your experence.
Best regards.

Have you looked at the Dominion of Canada Rifle Association website? There are links there for your local Provincial Rifle Association. If you are not too far from Ottawa, Connaught Ranges has 900m.

theED, what part of the country do you live in? Every province has a rifle association which shoots both fullbore (iron sight) and F class (scoped guns) at distances from 300m to 900m (1000yds). If you tell me which province you are in I can link you up with your local group.

Foe those living in Quebec there are a couple of options.

The Quebec provincial rifle association has a website http://www.pqra.org/

If you live close to he Ottawa region, the DCRA's main range facility is just outside Ottawa. There a re many Quebec based shooters who travel there to shoot 1000 yds. www.dcra.ca
