How do you clean your AR gas tube?

Shoot it..;)

Seriously though, unless you are shooting .22 rimfire in a conversion kit, there is nothing to do with the gas tube. The pressure from regular .223/5.56 rounds will blow anything out of the tube, into the BCG. If you do use a conversion kit, replace the BCG and shoot some 5.56 every 500 rounds or so of .22 rimfire to stay on the super safe side..

If you really get the urge...

I don’t… but yeah, standard crafts store pipe cleaner… or that kit AWOL posted comes with a little cleaner wire thing, I think you can get it at Brownells.

really a pipe cleaner and some 99% alcohol (drug store has high alcohol stuff) is more than enough, and takes 20 seconds.

i shot 500 rounds of the dirty black box AE223 and got a bit of black. maybe clean every few thousand rounds, or when you

do a detailed strip.

I have over 10yrs of fixing C7 and C8s "AR15s" I have never, ever change a gas tube "except when changing burnt out barrels"

You will burn out your barrel long before your need a new gas tube. two things you need too do to keep your AR running; one lube the hell out of it, two change your gas rings when worn.
