Okay gents how do you clean your brass? I just tumble mine but they just don't come as shiney as I want them to be.
What methods or products do you use?

I have used ground corn cob media , with and without polish, crushed walnut shell with and without polish and I am presently using a 50/50 mixture of white rice and brown rice with no polish. It works quite well and there isn't as much dust as with the other medias. Buy it at the bulk section at your super market, it is pretty cheap , and no, UNCLE BEN'S won't work. The shine you get is in relation to the condition of the brass you start with. Range pickups that are kind of mottled will polish up kind of mottled shiny. Nice new brass will come out nice and shiny, as will old brass that is just darkened but still brass in color but maybe it will take a little longer to be finished. Depending on if it is a vibratory polisher or a tumbler, anywhere from 2 to 4 hours is usually plenty of time . Sometimes the polishing can be quickened by taking a little steel wool to the necks of rifle cases to remove the carbon before polishing.

corn sucks. I prefer walnuts. I guy at my range says he uses "white gas" and his brass is very shiney.. very very shiney. ONe guy even told me he has a "dip tank" with solvent in it ( which gets all the powder residue off) then he tumbles the brass for a "buff finish".
I just use walnuts.. works very well.

Corn cob and Dillon polish (or something similiar) in a tumbler. I'm not into any of the bubba-type deals with homemade solutions. All you need is corn cob and polish and a couple hours in a tumbler, everything else is just wasting time in my opinion. My brass always comes out looking new, what more can I want?

I use a Thumblers tumbler with a solution of hot water, lemon juice and sunlight dish detergent. After an hour or so, I rinse the brass with hot water and let dry.

hot?!
or did you mean that you havent removed the primer yet?

I just use corn and tamble for about an hour...it comes out clean, but the stains are still there...hmm I might have to use polish.

btw are all the polishes liquid? I'm not suposed to use any liquid in my tumbler :(

I use walnut with a polish, sometimes Lyman. Finish for half an hour in corn cob to remove polish residue etc... Real shiney.

And speaking about forgetting and leaving the tumbler on for a while, I left it on for a few days and it was starting to take the nickel plate off some of the cases!!!

Cleaning Brass

I use the Turbo 600 tumbler with Green corn cobb media and tumble till clean around necks. I then resize and trim to length, clean primer pockets a little. I then wash brass in a ice cream pail with warm water and a LITTLE white vinegar for no more than 15 minutes, tumble and shake excess water out and dry in an old towel and let air dry for 48hrs, making sure no water left in any cases. Primer - Powder and seat bullet... Done.
