How do you clean your shotgun after use? What tools should my setup include?

It's been years since i've cleaned a 12 gauge, and am just wondering what everyone on here uses as far as cleaning schedule after use, and tools etc.

Would love to see some pictures of your cleaning stations if any of you have any.

I feel some of you have some pretty beautiful cleaning/repair station setups at home..

Thanks for the help.

spray carb cleaner in it then spray clp then store

Ive never taken my Mossberg 500 apart since I have it

cleaning guns is a waste of time....

I shoot an 1100 and when it starts feeling like it is cycling slowly I take the forearm off and spray WD 40 on the gas system and wipe it down. If it gets a spray of salt water while hunting ducks I spray it with WD 40 and wipe it down. If it gets humidity on it from shooting a round of skeet and them taking it into the warm lodge, I wipe it down. Other than that I only strip and clean it before a major competition; once a year probably.

I used to use different types of solvent but now I put dish soap on the part I want to clean and scrub it with a tooth brush and rinse with really hot water and either put the parts on my furnace to dry or dry them with a hair dryer. It is a lot easier on both the environment and me.

Bore snake and Remington Brite Bore - after every flat.
Bore snake and Remington Brite Bore, Rem Action cleaner for trigger group, Rem Shotgun cleaner for everything else. Finish with rem drilube - after 5 flats.
Oh, and yes, I unscrew the chokes too. :)

My set up usually consists of a blanket I lay on the living room floor, a boresnake, RB17 cleaner, rags, stiff bristle brush.

I use a bore snake in the bore after every shootiung session. I also open the breach and use RB17 to clean out any crud. Then I lubricate it and wipe the blued parts with a rag and some gun oil for rust protection.

Every once and a while, (a few times a year, or when I get bored) I strip the shotgun down. I use a brush, mop and patches and give the bore a good scrub. Use RB17 to clean all the internal parts and inside the receiver. I scrub the trigger housing and parts with RB17 and blow it out with compressed air, wipe it dry, apply some thin oil to the working parts of it, blow excess oil away and wipe dry again. Reassemble the gun, lubricate and oil wipe down.

I use a patch with solvent down the bore, then a dry patch, then a mop with oil after every time i take out my mossberg 500. Might be a little overkill, but to me, cleaning up after is part of the fun :) If it was REALLY bad, liek if i just shot a couple hundred rounds out of it, i might give it a brush with solvent before the first patch. The brush came with the kit, so.... :)
