95% of my hunting is from a stand of some sort. I will occasionally still hunt, or try to put a stalk on an animal that is out of range. I started my hunting career as a bowhunter (18 years now!) and have only recently started gun hunting for big game (6 years). ALL of my deer have come on the stand, however I have had a few close calls while still hunting. This year I spent our two week shotgun hunt with a local family that invited me to hunt with them and they run dogs--very exciting! However, again, all four deer we got came from standhunting. They stand hunt morning/evening, and run a few chases during the mid day. We got 3 bucks and a doe, all 1.5 years old, but some mighty fine eating!

Now it is back to bowhunting and the tail end of the rut here in my part of the universe.

I am surprised and dissapointed that more hunters are not using Hounds anymore... Hound music and running deer are something everyone should experience at least once.

When I used to hunt an area called Joe's lake south of Almont, we used dogs......nothing get the heart pumping like the sound of dogs running your way with a deer in front.

And very illegal in Alberta.. as are using electronic game calls (both apply to big game).

I guess I should have included a "Stage-Coach" option in the poll :p

My favorite would be tracking in fresh snow followed by stalking. however due to limited time the past few years because of school most has of my hunting has been stand hunting because I could take a book to read while waiting.
