Hey guys,

I'm looking for information regarding the mounting of side sling swivels on the USGI synth stock for the M14. I am looking for a rear swivel thaqt mounts above the trigger group and can be used for a single point sling but I will also be installing a forward swivel in order to use a 2 or 3 point sling as well.

Any info you could provide on the following would be appreciated:

1) What kind of swivel is used (or is available)?

2) How does it mount to the stock? I know it's screwed in but what kind of screws? Do they protrude into the body of the synthetic stock...if so, how is that possible without contacting the receiver or the trigger group housing?

3) What suggestions would you have?

Thanks guys!

I used Pachmayer flush mount swivels on the side of mine. I just drilled proper size hole, filled it with epoxy, screwed in flush mount swivels before the epoxy set, let it set for 24 hours before use. They work great.

Go look at ebay item #7224020618, then consider Marstar part #GAR-054 Buttstock Swivel @$9.00.

The two parts look the same to me, and you can see how someone else solved a similar problem.
