How do you properly remove a AR 15 gas tube from the gas block. I have a picitiny front gas block and would like to change it with my new yankiee hill pop-up front sight. Movies would be great but can't find them on you tube.
Thank's for the insight!

theres a small roll-pin in the gas-block/front sight. knock that out (and keep it!!) and then just slide the gas tube out of the block, and play with it until you can remove it.

Slide it rearward into the receiver. It may feel stuck it the front sight but it will go just take care not to bend it. You should not require any tools to pull it. Once you have it loose just rotate it slightly and pull it out past the side of the front sight. Do not loose that little roll pin from the beginning...unless your new block came with a new pin, you'll need to re-use the original.

Do not re-use the old roll pin, once removed they never are 100% again

Its an about $0.02 part

Ideally you can remove the block and take out the gas tube, but I recommend changing the gas tube and pin if your going to replace the block. Gas Tubes are another cheap part.

Then stick to the 'one way range'...

:p....damn civies

You stick to the "one way range"...I'm going back to the "two way" :dancingbanana: ...gunplumbers will fix my s**t over there anyhow :D

I'm just sayin out of the 20 or so gas tube pins I've re-used, none have had any issues....you just gotta be careful taking them out (brass punch).
