How do you remove the stripper clip guide on M-305

Strippe Clip Guide removal

I like problems like this.... :D

You can do this with the barreled reciever in the stock or not in the stock. Let's approach this with the reciever in the stock which is chucked up in a padded vise.

Using a punch a little smaller than 1/8" or smaller, punch / push/hammer the pin downwards into the reciever and then tap out (plastic hammer or masking taped ball peen hammer to prevent scratches) the stripper clip guide. :D Size could be a 3/32".... but use what works. Be safe.....

Now shake the reciever and retrieve (let it fall out) the roll pin that secured the stripper clip guide. :p

Now with the open reciever chucked up in the vise (masking tape the reciever mortises), I like to stuff an old (white... easier to see) t-shirt or remnant into the open bottom of the reciever. Then I place masking tape, sticky side up to catch the punched pin. :D

Take a small ziploc bag and label a piece of paper to remind yourself of what is stored in that parts bag. Date it, just in case you go mental (I'm getting there) :D

These strategies are safe ! See what works for you....

Cheers,
Barney ;)

Wack it from the Op Rod side, eliminates the confusion of right to left, whos left and whos right and was that looking from the front to back or back to front ect.

If you think it may be seized in (which I have never seen) liberally apply some ATF and let it sit. Commercial penetrating fluid may remove the finish.

some of these pins have to more encouraged than others- ie whack it a few more times- i didn't even use a vise- just took it out of the stock, used a broken drill bit shank, and a pair of needlenose plies once it was more than halfway out - just pulled- then a plastic mallet ro remove the clip guide itself
