I'll be getting a CSA VZ58 NR with chrome lined barrel when they come out, and I want to trick it out. However, I'm wondering whether it is really "necessary" to arma coat it. The arma coat guys of course claim that they see many examples of the rifle with surface rust on the exterior, but of course they would say that.

So I ask those of you who actually use the CSA VZ 58 (not range commandoes or safe queens - actual use in the bush etc) - how durable is the finish? Is it "worth" it to arma coat? My interest is to avoid surface rust.

Thanks.

The finish on my CSA is soft compared to my CZ's, it's commercial finish is not as tough as the original type military finish.

I have had an CZ 858 for over five years, it has seen a lot of use and has no finish wear. I have had a CSA a few months and it has finish wear already.

I never saw a csa in personne , but my cz finish is super soft, were the front sling ring touch the barrel the finish is all peel, were the gas exit it all gone and all the barrel its bubble up!.... but I still love the gun, its not a beauty queen , its a pagent hore! ;)
