how far can a 597 vtr shoot accurately

I hit a few at 300 the other day but it took two 30 round mags, just want6ed to make sure it wasn't anything I was doing lol

Thanks, I heard something about the 17hmr. I think there was also something about that from Magnum Research regarding one of their semi-auto rifles. I think it was an ammunition problem no?

Just got a Bushnell Trophy (japan made) 4-12x40 in the mail to aid that . Now I need a bipod, what can I buy that attaches to that front loop thing?

This question is really more of a "how far can a .22lr shoot accurately".

I believe the answer is 100m. When talking about a .22lr it really isn't about the firearm at all. Yes, you can shoot out past 100m with .22lr, however it's not going to be accurate from a repeatability standpoint.
