How far?

How far do you travel to hunt? Generally I have to go about 2 hours to my camp. I can hunt closer. But I have to contend with to many new Canadians from Toronto. I would love to lease some property closer so I could get out more often. But it's hard to come by. Just wondered how far you guys go to hunt on a regular basis?

Being in Calgary most of my hunting is within about a 45min drive.

About 1 1/4 miles. Unless I want to shoot one of the critters that I see around my home from time to time.

5 min. to 20 hrs, depending on the game I'm hunting.

I bowhunt out my backdoor,200m further I can gun for grouse,200m more and I'm legal with a rifle.Rarely ever travel more than an hour.

Depending on the target, 15 minutes for deer, 3 hours for Elk and 15 hours for Moose. Therefore deer can be hunted daily after or before work, elk demand look weekends, and moose a week for sure, 2 is better.

afraid so..........been doing the drive for the last 6 years......and every year i say its my last..but just today i was planing next years..
good hunting and great company makes it worth the drive..

turkey 5min. to 1 hr., moose 2 hrs. , deer 5 min. to 1hr.and a bit, ducks and geese 20 min. to 45 min.

Grouse, deer, bear...30 secs.

If I want to *really* hunt those animals...About 30 minutes.

Elk is a few hours, sheep even more. Moose can be 1 hour to 10 hours depending on draws.

Deer, 3 hrs to the camp, 45 mins to fogduckers, or ten to a local field, that depends on an east wind for success.
Moose 45 mins by Jeep, then 20 by ATV

And when I hunt paper on sunday its a 15-20 min drive to the range

I need to move, or find land close to where I live so I can hunt afternoons and not spend 4 weeks vacation a year on hunting.

Deer: 10 minutes to eight hours

Elk: eight hours

Moose: 12 hours

Could also hunt the bucks, quail and sometimes bear om my acreagage with bow and arrow, but I like to get out and away from home and wander around in the hills mountains with my guns. Found cougar tracks last time I was out and also took a shoot at a coyote last time I was out. There should be turkey hunting about 45 minutes from home, but stil have to figure that one out.

If I had to sit in a vehicle for 24 hours or more for a stupid swamp donkey I would quit hunting. If you guys are going to drive that far why not drive to Alberta or BC for some "real" hunting

Bout five minutes walk out my back door. Living in the sticks is nice .
