I got thousands and thousands of cast 158 gr .358s and 93 grain .309s. I hate shooting lubed cast bullets and particularly hate the face-full of stinky blue smoke that one gets every time a round is fired. Thanks, but no thanks.
I learned that you can use a cleaner called Lloyds Laboratories Xtreme Clean Multi-Purpose Industrial Formula Cleaner Degreaser to take off the nasty bullet lube. Then, I powder coated them, using the tumbler method.
So far I've only used these in 38 Specials, 9mm and 7.62x25. I've thought of pushing the 93 grain .309s in 30 cal rifles - using loading data for 100 gr short jackets etc. That means pushing them over 2000 fps. What happens when you push powder coated bullets using jacket rifle loads? How fast have you pushed your powder coated projectiles?
Note: I have no interest in stuff about ordinary lead loads, or gas checked loads, etc. This isn't the thread for that.
