How important is cleaning the trigger on my 870

300ish rounds through my 870 and i have yet to take the trigger out to clean it
is it necessary?

i only clean mine when they look real dirty with powder fowling and dirt. the only thing i do to clean the trigger group is hose it down with WD40 and dry it with and air compressor. you have to take the trigger group out first, it only takes 5 minutes to clean that way.

G96 is better for firearms then WD40.

Every 1000 rounds I spray it down with WD-40, wipe it dry, then apply some synthetic motor oil with a Q-tip, gtg.

Also don't count on Remington's so called warranties.

Easy to pull apart and put back. All depends on how you use the gun. If you carry it in long grass, dry, dusty, wet conditons or just shot it at the range you will find everything from leaves, pine needles to unburnt powder, etc in there.

the trigger mec is very easy to take out and clean .
i do mine about every 1000 rds.
but thats about every month to 6 week for me.
