How late in the year are gophers out?

I've seen them in southern Alberta during the November deer season, but it was an unseasonably warm day. I doubt that you would see many out now though, and I would think by the middle to end of September the majority of the little cannibals have gone to sleep.

Thanks Scott. I have 2 new rigs that have never shot a gopher before. I guess I will have to wait until next year :(. I have about 900 WMR rounds that are waiting to get some use. :D

The best time to go gopher shooting is in April and May, before the grass gets too long. I've seen them out as early as late January during a chinook, but they really seem to start coming out in March.

They start to hit the sack 1st to 2nd week of September. I did see one come out of it's hole today, but for the most part....zzzz, zzzzz. ;)
