How long does it take on average for a tumbler to clean the cases?

I am assuming that you tumble until the cases are clean.

I tumble 9mm for at least 4 hours in crushed walnut shells, sometimes an extra hour with Nufinish.

i put mine in when i go to bed and take em out when i get home from work. so about 20hrs
i just use crushed walnut shells and they come out looking better than new

4-8 hours, depending if I fall asleep or forget that I left it running in the garage.

Second batch... change and plug back in before going to work.

2-3 batches a day, leaving the tumbler on overnight.

The two batches during the day are pistol brass, which I leave on for 4-5 hours, then I tumble rifle brass overnight, usually 10-12 hours.

Anything less then two hours is useless if you want really clean brass in my opinion.

It depends on the brass i'm doing.
I get mine clean fairly quickly (hr. ish) but painfully shiny takes longer.
The 50 BMG brass takes alot longer. Some had to be chemically cleaned first.
