3 weeks and waiting at this point. Renewed on line and checked a few days ago for an update but no info available. 5 years ago was fairly quick, less than 2 months if I remember right. One thing that can screw up any renewal would be if the posties go on strike and you can’t get your card by snail mail. Early is better than later I usually allow 4-5 months to be on the safe side.

If you are from BC make sure you send proof of range membership or association a like Silvercore. Otherwise they won’t tell you and you will not receive renewal. I waited over 6 months before I remembered. Once I sent it in took like a week. This is a stupid made up rule from BC CFO. Cheers

Interestingly my last renewal (2024) went through without range membership. It took a while, but my buddy who doesn't own restricted took even longer. Mine took about 5 months, his 8 months, both last year.

In previous years they contacted me about the range membership. Snail mail letter asking me to call them about an incomplete application IIRC.

nova scotia has the same rule regarding a club membership, my renewal last year took about 3 weeks maybe because i have all the classes on my license?

My wife’s renewal was similar. Sixteen days from online application to in her hands. No calls about range membership, located in BC.

If you have a lifetime membership to a range that you have previously submitted then that info is in the cfo database. I haven’t had to show membership for several renewals.

I apply for mine about 3 months ahead of renewal, normally get it before it expires.

Took me one week less than 4 months.
