how long is Restricted course good for?

When I initially did my PAL in 2003 I did the combined course for restricted and the regular safety course for the simple reason that it was the only course available at the time. Not ever thinking that I would consider buying a restricted. Now...I would like to get a pistol etc. Is my restricted course from 2003 still valid to apply for an upgrade from PAL to RPAL??? OR do I need to bite the bullet and re-take the course. I have the course results forms etc still.

Since the early 90's it is now logged in a computer somewhere for the rest of your life that you took the course.

Call the CFC. I was quoted the course to be only valid for a year - even though the new upgraded license would be a'ok for five.
