how long is your mauser 98k barrel ??

I think it should be 600mm ..... 
When we took our CFC Verifier course, we were told that you close the bolt, put a cleaning rod down the barrel, then measure the cleaning rod from where the barrel was flush with the crown.
I think that's how they get 600mm which is what is on the FRT disc ....

I have a GEW 98 that has a barrel about 1/2 inch longer than another barrel. Both appear original lengths but different German manufacturers. Perhaps some 98K's have barrel lengths differing from most?
Just thought I would throw that one in. I have seen my share of original service rifles and militaria that were different from history/technical books.
