Ok gents, what do you think, how long will a new bushnell trophy
3x9x40 last on a 375 H&H safari? Only scope I have in storage.
Me,I don't think it will last long but I'm going to try it.Regards
375rum
I've got Trophy scopes on two of my slug guns. I guarentee you the 375 wont cick harder than my SG with 3 1/2" slugs. No problem, and I have to be close to 700 rds.
If the scope is not a FFP then you get a shift in the aiming point (usually) while you change the magnification.
If the reticle is a SPF, your crosshair (or whatever you chose) changes in size, but does not shift zero.
Fixed powers are brighter (less lenses)
Tougher - no erector tube.
Lighter - less stress on rings and not last - shoulder.....
And they are just a lot ###y-er. Averyone and their dog has a 3-9x40 nowadays.
I have had a 3x9x40 B&L 3000 on my 375 H&H for years and it is "dead on balls accurate" In fact that is the the setup i will be takeing on my Grizzly hunt this fall just like every other time I hunt. My poi does not shift with magnification and the scope has never let me down.
