Had a conversation with a buddy regarding this topic and just wanted to get feedback from the forum.

Issue: Would it be better to buy all pistols in one caliber so you don't need to stock up on different ammo?

I currently have a CX4 in .40 and a couple of pistols in .40 (for now) and was thinking about getting a 9mm.

I stock up on .40 when I can find it at a good price, but thinking about getting a 9mm as it is cheaper to buy.

Since I don't reload, will it really matter in the end?

If you're not reloading and you've got the money to shoot whichever calibres you please, then why not have a wide range? Life is about variety, dang it!

I shoot 40 SW, 9mm Major, 9mm minor (loaded long), 9mm (SAAMI specs), 38 Super Comp....and the list keep growing.....reloading is the key.

GEEG;
Shooting and collecting are serious and chronic conditions, the ONLY treatment (not a cure) that will ease your pain is to get as many firearms as you can afford....
You will feel better for a short while but the urge will return and you must BUY another....

that's my problem so far....been thinning the herd a little bit (ok..quite a lot actually).

Just want to keep the collection a little bit more manageable and not need to have six different ammo types around.

I don't reload anymore and that's what sparked the conversation in the first place.

and yes..I do have my eye of a few new pieces already...

I thinned my herd and kept the firearms that I reloaded for......but the darn thing was I bought dyes and reloading presses to justify buying a gun that I didn't reload for....

Someone help me.....

I have moved to just one caliber for handguns, .40S&W. This was done because I found that I shot this caliber more than any other. That being said, I own 5 rifles and all are different calibers.

YOU CAN'T GET BY ON LESS THAN 6- YOU'LL COME BACK TO THE FOLD WHEN YOU'VE SEEN THE ERROR OF YOUR WAYS- 22 pistol, meduim centerfire, and LARGE pistol- same with rifle- and a shotgun that equals 7 then you'll find little"advantages"- one of my m14s is better than the others at long range, i need a 338 for bears, my m14 has a folding stock, etc

If I have enough green, I 'd say buy muti caliber. They all created for different purpose. There isn't really this better than that. I have .22, 9mm and 357mag. I really want a .45 and a 40.

sounds good so far.....

I still have my .22 pistol...sold my .22 rifle (bad choice) and a couple/few rifles/shotgun types so not too bad in that area (but still could use either an AR carbine of some sort or maybe the Black Special)....so that's 4 calibers/ammo types there.

Just need to decide if I should stick with the .40 in handguns or get the 9mm or even another .45 again.

Looking for more "fun" guns now.

Just "sold" my last match gun..it is mainly stock anyways and just looking for some guns to punch holes now. One reason why I got the CX4, pretty fun and can mod it out with various items.
