How many in a group size??

I'm with Maynard, vertical dispersion is the killer! If the 10 is a 2inch circle and your rifle shoots zero vertical, you have 2 inches of windage to play with. If your rifle shoots two inches of vertical you have virtually no room for windage error.
I agree with Ganderite also in that a five shot group is meaningless if the competition consists of a ten or twenty shot string. Likewise, a single ten shot group is of little value unless it can be repeated. Regards, Bill.

Jim, The purpose here is to stir up the #### and get a bunch of guys to go out and try to shoot a 50 shot group spread over 5 days. We both know that anyone who can't say "I screwed up" (and figure out how to fix it) will never be a world class shot! Like I always say, there is a reason that pop cans don't have rings, or in other words, you (not you, but many shooters,) can't handle the truth!!

I guess that's why we don't seen these guys with their out of the box Savage/Remington/Stevens rifles that shoot 1/4MOA all day, everyday using Winchester white box come out to any matches.:stirthepot2::nest:

5 shot groups is plenty. Try different loads once you find a load that works for you, then you can concentrate on improving that perticular load. The load you use in not the only thing you got to worry about. Trying different brass is also important (eg. if you use thicker brass you might have to reduce your load) etc.etc. etc..

Like someone said if you cant get good grouping with 5 rounds, 20 rounds wont help you.

If this doesn't make sense to you disregard
