Ok, you just won 40 million in lottery, how many misurps would you buy? Personaly, I would require a bunker to store them all. They would be organised by country of issue, displayed with the apropriate flag in the backround. Lets see, someone counted all the different mosins & in came out to 600 guns if you wanted one of each. Then there is enfields, garands, mausers etc, etc.

Wouldn't own many I'd probably buy one proper No.1(HT), a No.4(T), M1D and a M1903A4.
Then I'd spend a little to buy a house and a farm as well as put away about 1 million for each of my kids (education and a home).
The Rest would go to start a Canadian Firearms company selling Lee-Enfield based rifles in "short", "long" and "standard" actions. The Long action would be long enough to accept rounds with a Overall Length of 3.750" (so the 338 Laupa Mag will work in it). The Short will be for rounds as long as the 308Win and shorter, and the Standard would be meant for rounds like the 303British, 30-06Spring, 8mm Mauser. As well as making accurate clones of Military issued Lee-Enfield Rifles, (No.1 Rifles, No.4 Rifles, No. 1 HT, No.4 T and 22LR trainers). Oh forgot to mention a Semi-auto design I've been bouncing around in my head for the last little while and semi-automatic only Bren and Sten guns.
So yes not many would be bought only 4 surplus rifles.

With 40 megabucks, you could buy an island, declare the sucker independent, get a Vickers and really have some fun.
But if it was any less than the full 40 meg, I'd have to stop short and just get a Ross with the 1913 Warner & Swayze scope....... I'd be perfectly happy with that.

40 mil? I'll buy a biiiiiiiig piece of land full of games. Then I'll buy all my favourite milsurp guns, two for each at least. One for hunting , one for collection. Then I'll store the ones for hunting on that land, hunt with them in turn. Oh yeah, and lots of ammo too!

Better watch that flag behind the milsurp thing. After the raid, the only flag that will get reported will be the NAZI flag, or maybe the communist flag. I've already seen it happen to enough collectors, some of whom were the nicest guys in the world.
